Design for the Environment
In general terms Design for the Environment is the process of developing and providing products or services that have no undue environmental impact and are safe in their intended use. The scope furthermore adds that they are efficient in their consumption of energy and natural resources and that they can be recycled, reused, or disposed of safely
To this extent we work extensively, not only with our clients but with field experts, research institutions and an expert supply network to ensure that the proposed solutions satisfy market, shareholder and environmental requirements
We create a program that considers;
- Redesign of the product itself to have a smaller impact on the environment and reduce energy consumption either within the supply chain, internal manufacturing and/or distribution
- Making simple logistics changes that reduce cost and have big carbon footprint implications
- Reducing the weight of the product to making it easier to disassemble
- Introducing innovation or new technologies to make it possible to eliminate some components or sub-components entirely
- Possible alternative secondary use of product or process waste
